JCCC has more than 100 transfer agreements with area colleges and universities. JCCC offers more than 50 one-year certificate and two-year associate degree and certificate programs that lead directly to careers needed in the community. JCCC’s Workforce, Community and Economic Development branch offers more than 2,600 businesses, professional, and personal enrichment programs. Here, students can enhance their knowledge and skills to prepare for a new career, advance to the next level, or boost performance and productivity.

JCCC is listed among the top 10 digitally-savvy community colleges in the large college category by the Center for Digital Education and the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC).
Johnson County Community College serves as a focal point for performing and visual arts entertainment and education in Johnson County and the greater Kansas City area. Whether they inspire contemplative reflection or provoke searing social comment, the arts are opportunities for growth. Not just beautiful or provocative, the arts are, at heart, educational.

Majors

Four different degrees offered at JCCC: Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science, and Associate of General Studies. The college also offers certifiates of varying credit hours for many of its career programs.  JCCC does not offer bachelor’s degrees, but the college does have transfer agreements with many four-year schools.

Honors

The honors program is designed to stimulate and challenge academically talented students, providing them with an opportunity to excel and achieve their educational goals. The program allows students to:

  • explore new ideas
  • engage in creative activities
  • research areas of interest
  • sharpen skills
  • become independent learners
  • collaborate with experienced faculty

Honors program courses are defined by small class size and are based on exploration and discussion of a variety of theories and perspectives.

The Honors Forum and the availability of a special leadership class add breadth to the honors experience.

One-credit hour honors contracts are available to all qualified students who have an interest in more thorough investigation of a subject.

Study abroad opportunities are available to honors students, who are encouraged to take advantage of them whenever possible.

The honors program assists students in applying for transfer scholarships and aids with transfer to universities.

Honors program enriches the greater college community by bringing scholars to campus to share their expertise.

Study Abroad

Studying abroad is one of the most exciting and enriching opportunities you’ll have while you’re in college. You’ll be amazed at how much you’ll learn about yourself, the world, and the subjects that you’re studying while you explore another culture. In today’s global economy, studying abroad is becoming essential to success in many different professions.

Through JCCC’s Study Abroad Program, you can receive college credit while studying in any one of over 30 countries for a summer, semester or a year. Programs are offered in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa, and Australia. In addition to studying the country’s language, you’ll take other courses taught in English.
